According to GadgetsDNA a Chinese source has supplied us with news that the next generation iPhone 5 will have a new aluminium back and a redesigned antenna
Apples original iPhone had an aluminum backing while the current iPhone 4 has a glass one. It would appear that Apple are looking to move back towards a design similar to the ipod touch.

The claims of a new antenna design would make sense as well since the iPhone 4 was plagued with the antennagate issue which didn’t do Apple any favours at all
Also by reverting back to the aluminium backing, Apple hope to save weight aswell as avoid issues which have been reported where the glass is cracking or scraping
