IPHONE 4

The all-new Apple iPhone 4: it’s nothing that hasn’t already been talked, tweeted, posted, or chatted about six ways from Sunday. But here we are, posting about it. Tsk tsk. Well, at least it’s an excuse to post a gallery (after the jump).
As Steve Jobs alluded to, the new Apple iPhone 4 is all about engineering and software – it’s been likened to an old Leica Camera and constructed accordingly. Touted as the thinnest smartphone “ever” at 9.3mm thick, the all-newly designed iPhone 4 comes in a custom stainless steel alloy case and features an blitzkreig of new features: chemically strengthened glass (same type of glass used in helicopters and 30x harder than plastic), a front-facing and rear cameras with LED flash/light, new integrated antenna, microSIM, second noise-cancelling mic, 960×640 IPS enabled Retina Display (326 pixels per square inch, human eye can only recognize 320), A4 processor, three-axis gyroscope and GPS for 6-axis motion sensing, 5x digital zoom 5 megapixel camera with backlit illuminated sensor, 720p 30fps video recording, audio/video tap focus, and a new battery with 10 hours of video, 7 hours of 3G talk, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of WiFi browsing, 40 hours of music, and 300 hours of standby. As expected, the new iPhone 4 includes the new iOS 4 (free upgrade for iPhone/iPod touch owners, thankfully) which features multitasking in-app SMS, power usage tools, folders, multiple Exchange accounts, wireless app distribution, iBooks, and FaceTime video chat (wi-fi only).
My Favorite New Feature: It’s neither the massive list of new features nor the industrial new design. It’s a separate $5 purchase and goes by the name iMovie for iPhone and it looks outstanding. Hopeful result: better YouTube videos.
