Following studying with Uta Hagen at Columbia University, Peet begin her occupation in TV commercials, and progress to small roles on television, earlier than making her film debut in 1995. Feature roles in films such as The Whole Nine Yards (2000) bring her recognition and she was name one of People's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" in 2000.
