Two suspects in an incident that led to the loss of an iPhone 4 protoype in a bar in California last year have pleaded not guilty to charges of misdemeanor theft.
Brian Hogan, 22, of Redwood City, and Safe Wallower, 28, of Emeryville, stand accused of misappropriation of lost property, and in Wallower's case, also with possession of stolen property. The pair were charged last month.
Cnet reports that the pair appeared before Superior Court Judge Jonathan Karesh to plead their innocence on Thursday. A trial is scheduled for 28 November.
Hogan has admitted selling the iPhone 4 prototype to technology blog Gizmodo months ahead of the official release of the iPhone 4. Gizmodo and its former editor Jason Chen escaped charges relating to the incident.
The news comes in the same week that it emerged that an iPhone 5 prototype had gone missing from a Mexican restaurant in San Francisco.
However, there has been doubt cast on the reports, with the San Francisco Police Departmentdenying all knowledge of the claims. A suspect in the prototype's disappearance was allegedly searched by police and Apple investigators in July after the supposed incident.
Apple has also been attempting to gain custody of a 3G MacBook that was bought on Craigslist this week.
